Two common GPS antennas are briefly introduced.
At present, the application of GPS antenna is very extensive. Today we will focus on two types of GPS antenna.
The first is a flat antenna (PATCH Antenna)
Owing to its durability and relative ease of fabrication, flat antenna has become the most common type of antenna in application. Its shape is changeable. It can be round or square or rectangular. It looks like a printed circuit board coated with copper. It is mainly composed of one or more metal sheets. Therefore, the most commonly used shape of GPS antenna is a block, like a rectangular one. Because GPS antenna can be made very small, it is especially suitable for aviation applications and personal handheld applications.
The second is Quadrifilar Helix Antenna.
_Four-arm helical antenna is composed of four specific curved metal lines. Therefore, it does not need any ground connection. It also has the characteristics of Zapper antenna and vertical antenna. This ingenious structure can make the antenna gain 3dB in any direction, thus increasing the receiving time of satellite signals. Four-arm helical antenna has the characteristics of Zapper antenna and vertical antenna. At the same time, it also has the ability to receive 360 degrees, so when combined with pda, it can receive the four-arm spiral antenna regardless of the placement of PDA, and it is different from the limitation that flat-panel GPS antenna needs to be flat in order to receive better. If we use this antenna, when the satellite appears at 10 degrees above the ground level, we can also receive the transmission from the satellite. Signal
